The island of Elba is connected to the mainland by four shipping companies - Toremar, Moby Lines, Corsica Ferries and Blu Navy - which operate daily trips between Piombino and Portoferraio (Toremar also to Rio Marina, Moby Lines also to Cavo). The crossing takes about 60 minutes (30 minutes with Corsica Ferries). Toremar also makes some trips with a hydrofoil (30').
